A United Auto Workers union is on strike at a G-M plant near Kansas City. The plant makes the Chevrolet Malibu--a bright spot in GM's lineup.
The union had set today as their deadline if a settlement was not clear.
A union spokesperson says the main issue is that GM wanted to place workers on any line regardless of seniority. G-M says they hope to settle the strike as soon as possible. The strike comes at an inopportune time for G-M. The automaker recently announced it lost more than three-billion dollars in the first quarter.
