Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich says he's inherited the worst budget crisis Illinois has ever known.
Gov. Blagojevich told reporters in Chicago the financial situation is the result of years of spending without regard for the immediate and long-term fiscal health of Illinois.
The governor has appointed the team he hopes will help him bring the state out of that crisis. Blagojevich named John Filan as his budget director. The governor also appointed state representative Julie Curry to be the deputy chief of staff for economic development and labor.
