A high school band director, his wife and their granddaughter were among five people killed early Sunday in a bus crash near Osseo, Wisconsin.
The bus was carrying Chippewa Falls High School students and their chaperones home from a band competition. It collided with a semi truck that had jackknifed on the interstate. The bus driver and a student teacher were also killed. The State Patrol says 29 others were injured. The semi driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The bus was the first of four carrying about 200 students and 40 school staff members or chaperones. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. Chippewa Falls High School was opened Sunday for those who wanted to meet with counselors. The school's principal says classes will be held Monday.
