Another proposal would allow travelers to keep their shoes on. Right now, people must remove their footwear before walking through metal detectors. Governor Rod Blagojevich says Illinois would oppose any changes in the screening of airline passengers. Blagojevich says he thinks the worst thing the government can do in the post-September 11th world is to let its guard down.
