BONNEY LAKE, Wash. (AP) -- Casey Knowles is the sleeping 8-year-old girl appearing in a recent TV ad for Hillary Clinton about the 3 a.m. phone call. It's old footage; Knowles is about to turn 18.
And if you think her appearance constitutes an endorsement of Clinton, think again: Knowles supports Barack Obama, and has been campaigning for him.
The file footage was originally shot for a railroad company advertisement. The Clinton campaign purchased it.
Knowles says she doesn't like the ad, telling ABC's "Good Morning America Weekend Edition" that it's "fear-mongering" and a "cheap hit to take." Knowles says -- quote --"I really prefer Obama's message of looking forward to a bright future."
Knowles says she's been contacted by the Obama campaign, and that she suggested they do a counter ad.
But she says she plans to vote for whichever Democrat wins the nomination.
