We're looking at transportation and the success story that is the Greater Rockford Airport.
Three years ago, the airport had no passenger service. Today, the airport is home to four different carriers that service seven non-stop destinations.
200,000 passengers passed through the gates last year.
Mike Dunn, Chairman of the Airport Board of Commissioners, says the potential for economic growth is, quote, "mind-boggling."
Already, 150 jobs have been created due to passenger service and the airport is now the 22nd largest cargo operation in the U.S.
Dunn says interest in the airport continues to grow. In the next few weeks, the airport is receiving two new jet bridges and a new baggage carousel.
