The Illinois State Board of Education's survey shows that 83 percent of the school districts don't require the three years of math, two years of science and four years of language arts proposed.
Only 77 school districts meet the standards.
The current state requirements are for two years of math, one year of science and three years of language arts. They are among the lowest graduation standards in the nation.
The legislation passed the state Senate last month and is expected to be considered by the House this week.
