Children were too close to a very dangerous and potentially deadly situation in Beloit.
At around 3:30 a.m. Beloit police responded to 156 Middle Street. At that location a 27-year-old man had been shot. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Beloit police believe that the 27-year-old man entered the home, an altercation broke out and shots were fired. Four children under the age of 12 were home at the time.
The shooter is said to be 25-year-old Dramain Dumas of Beloit who is still on the run. Once the 27-year-old man is released from the hospital he faces criminal trespass and battery charges.
