They made a large and important mark on their small community first as residents and now as servicemen and women.
Winnebago supporters honored the 75 residents currently serving in our military and Peace Corps. Few communities of only 3,000 people have as many troops overseas and as much patriotic spirit back home.
A series of pictures were taken from Saturday’s rally. These pictures will be put in a special book and sent to all 75 Winnebago troops. Organizers say sending mementos from Illinois to our troops around the globe means the world to the troops and to Winnebago residents.
In recent days Winnebago leaders unveiled a special monument downtown in honor of the community's servicemen and women. The display highlights all of Winnebago's veterans and those currently in active duty.
