Did you know that we've now entered the Year of the Rooster?
Students at Kishwaukee Elementary School celebrated the Lao New Year, or Bpee My Lao. The Lao New Year is set for the fifth month of the lunar calendar on the sixth day of the waxing moon. This is Buddhist year 25-48.
Kids and their parents learned some traditional Laotian dancing. They were accompanied by Laotian music in the background.
In Laos, people celebrate by throwing water on each other, because it is the end of the dry season.
