Health officials say lead poisoning is 100% preventable but once it occurs the damage to our children is irreversible.

This Saturday The Winnebago County Health Department will host a Don't Clown Around With Lead fun fair.

Employees will use a tool to test lead paint levels found in children's toys.

Parents can also bring their kids ages nine to six months to receive a free blood test. Throughout the day there will be sessions about how to combat lead poisoning, they'll deal with nutrition and home maintenance.

Event:
Free Toy Screening and Blood Lead Testing
Saturday, January 12, 2008
10am-3pm
Patriots' Gateway Center, 615 S. Fifth Street, Rockford.
