A Rockford man is charged with the possession of explosive devices.

Winnebago County sheriff's deputies found bomb-making materials in the basement of 35-year-old James Wright's home at 426 Euclid Avenue. They were called to the residence for a domestic dispute, but were later tipped off about the explosive materials.

Deputies not only found chemicals and materials to make a pipe bomb, they also found evidence of an explosion on the deck outside the home. Sheriff Dick Meyers says nothing good can come from someone messing with explosive materials.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating whether Wright is responsible for a pipe bomb explosion near a tree at Ingersoll Park; that incident happened last week.
