Final Push

The jockeying in the 67th District between Chuck Jefferson and Gloria Cardenas Cudia didn't break stride Sunday as they try and reach the finish line

Many experts see Jefferson and Cudia fighting down to the wire. With just two days left before Tuesday's election how are they trying to put distance between one another. Gloria Cardenas Cudia is trying to do what no republican has done in 40 years: win the state's 67th district.

In doing so, she would also be the first Hispanic to hold this state seat in a district with a growing Hispanic population. But she says that her opponent’s lack of political leadership and not her race is why she should be elected.

Cudia says that she will make education her top priority and promises that before she raises taxes she will get the support of the community first. But Representative Jefferson says that since being in Springfield his experience and leadership has brought things to Rockford no other representative has

Jefferson says that he helped bring $4.4 billion to Rockford schools and another $13.5 million to the City of Rockford. That is something he says will continue.

Rockford residents say a better economy should happen regardless of who is elected. Both candidates plan to hold rallies and go door-to-door pushing for your vote within the next two days.
