The Bowmans are bringing light to the rising number of veterans committing suicide. Their son, 23 year old Tim Bowman killed himself on Thanksgiving day of 2005, eight months after returning from Iraq.
The Bowmans argue that just because troops return home doesn't mean the war within their minds has stopped.
A local woman who wrote a book on post traumatic stress disorder among our veterans is also testifying before congress today.
