The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, is investigating two workplace accidents that happened within three weeks. OSHA says usually they investigate more workplace accidents in November as a very busy and strenuous construction season comes to an end.
The first accident took place on January 13 in Loves Park. Craig Bicker and Peter Wells were making repairs to a foundation. They were cutting and replacing pieces of concrete. A concrete wall collapsed and pinned the two workers.
Bicker was killed in that accident. Representatives from OSHA say several things, from the weather to the concrete mix itself, as well as the way the wall was supported were to be investigated.
OSHA tells 23 News that they intend to head to the site again and collect a concrete sample to send to the lab.
