The Revenue Department says 65,000 Illinoisans filed electronically in the first five days of the filing season. That's the fastest start ever.
This is the 15th tax season that the state has offered electronic filing. In 1991, only about 800 people submitted their returns electronically, but last year more than two million did.
Taxpayers can file their returns online at www.il-tax.com. They also can use tax-preparation software or file through a tax professional.
Also go to the tab on the WIFR.com website for tax help and forms assistance.
