The report Monday didn't recommend immediate replacement of concrete panels in the ballpark's upper deck, but it did ask for regular inspection and patching of the panels.

The firm of Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates also recommends netting or some other protective barrier to guard against pieces of falling concrete.

The firm was hired by the Cubs at the request of the city to assess Wrigley Field's condition after three incidents of falling concrete last year at the 90-year-old ballpark.

The city's Buildings Department didn't have an immediate comment on the report.
