Cubs: Concrete Fell Because of Age

The team recommended Monday that safety nets remain in place at the 90-year-old ballpark for next season and beyond.

Chicago Buildings Commissioner Stan Kaderbek says he wants to review a report prepared by the Cubs' engineering firm before he decides whether to allow the safety nets to stay.

Safety has been an issue at Wrigley since three small chunks of concrete fell from the upper deck last season. No one was injured.

Cubs Vice President Mike Lufrano says the team looks forward to Kaderbek's comments on the report.
