Rockford's Post Office is posting new jobs for the first time in six years.
Starting Monday, December 6, 2004 they'll be hiring city carriers, mail processing clerks, mail handlers and sales/service and distribution associates. This is the first time the post office has accepted applications in six years.
Applicants sign up to take an exam. If they score a 70 percent or higher they're placed on a list and called when a job opens up. The Post Office says they expect to see lots of applicants.
The Post Office will be taking applications December 6 through December 10. Applications must be made by calling their toll free number at 1-866-999-8777 or by visiting their website at www.usps.com/employment.
Applicants will need announcement number 111738 to apply.
Again, the post office will not be accepting applications until Monday.
