Cancer patients got a chance to get a makeover Thursday at a luncheon in Rockford.
The program is called Look Good, Feel Better and it's put on by the American Cancer Society and the National Cosmetology Association. All female cancer patients in the area were invited. The women were treated to lunch followed by a makeover session. The women learned how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using donated skin care products. The program is designed to build self-confidence and a support system with other cancer patients.
St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford Memorial Hospital and Swedish American Hospital also sponsored the event.
