Imagine preparing a thanksgiving dinner for 15-hundred people.
Volunteers at Rockford's United Methodist church on Court Street did just that today.
Between 70 and 80 people having been working for days to prepare the biggest meal in Rockford.
Those who don't have a family to celebrate with or enough money to buy a feast got the gift of a hot meal.
The event was made possible by community effort- volunteers and many churches and businesses donated money and food.
This is the 23rd year the United Methodist church has served free thanksgiving dinners.
