The Chicago Tribune/WGN TV poll found that only 19 percent of the registered voters surveyed disapprove of the plan, while 14 percent had no opinion, but the poll finds that voters have a dramatically different view of any plans to expand gambling in Illinois to boost the state's budget.
The survey shows that 64 percent of respondents oppose more gambling and 24 percent are in favor of it, while 12 percent didn't express an opinion.
The poll of 700 likely Illinois voters was conducted Sept. 17 through the Sept. 20. It has an error margin of four percentage points.
