The seven-year-old airport hasn't had a regular carrier since January, but Thursday it says that a charter service will start running flights in November.
Trans-Meridian Airlines will fly twice weekly to Sanford, Florida. The town is 18 miles from Orlando, a major tourist destination.
Airport Operations Director Ron Owens says the charter airline may expand its schedule around the Christmas holidays.
MidAmerica was built in 1997 largely funded by Saint Clair County, but it's had trouble keeping airlines. Pan Am pulled out in December 2001. Great Plains came two years later, but pulled out in January after filing for bankruptcy.
Trans-Meridian began service about one year with flights from Rockford to Las Vegas and Sanford.
