Success Stories: Ole Salty's
Many companies in the food service industry have been able to weather the recession pretty well. But one local business is crunching its competition.

Ole Salty's recently moved to a new location on North Riverside in Rockford. The potato chip company has been in business for three decades and continues to see its business grow. The organization recently expanded their product line to include caramel and cheese corn as well as other tasty treats. Owners credit the company's success to offering gourmet treats at affordable prices, something customers seem to gravitate toward in the down economy. The boost in business has caused Ole Salty's to hire six people, a number that could grow as the company looks to expand.
"It's a gourmet treat people can afford in this economy. We're doing gift baskets, which are going over amazingly. People can still give a little treat and still a very affordable gift," says owner Anita Arco.
All items are made fresh daily. Ole Salty's plans to bring their new product lines to their Sycamore location as well. Share your success story here at www.wifr.com.

How much are these companies paying WIFR for these "Success Stories" aka minute long commercials.?
Rockford is fortunate to have not one, but TWO, GREAT local potato chip companies (and a few others who are not great). Mrs. Fishers and Ole Salty's are both welcome chips in my house! We get to teat the great chips and send off the crappy ones (i.e. the locally-made Vitner's and others they OEM for). You non-locals can please keep eating the junky ones we ship to you--we'll keep the best ones here for us! :-)
