Pet-Owners Choose to Feed Dogs Healthier
Many of us treat Fido as part of the family; we play with our dogs, let them lay and even sleep with us. So why should their meals be any different?

CHERRY VALLEY (WIFR) -- Many local residents are making sure their pups get all the right nutrition, just like us.
Cheryl Ross lives in rural Belvidere with eight dogs, two of which are fosters. That's because she works with Guardian Angel Basset Rescue in Belvidere. And any dog including rescue pups, can develop health problems, like hot spots, a form of skin irritation, and ear infections, just like us.
That's why Cheryl switched her four-legged friends to Exclusive and Infinia Holistic Dog Food. The new formula, sold at Cherry Valley Feed & Supplies, has all natural ingredients to keep our dogs in top shape.
"There's been problems with allergies over the last few years with pets, and we know that we have to remove the allergens out of the food which is wheat, corn, soy and bi-product meal. Getting the grain products out,L eliminate a lot of problems like ear infections, hot spots in dogs and dry itchy skin," says Bob Kramer, Owner of Cherry Valley Feed & Supplies.
Cheryl says that has made a huge difference; no more ear infections and...
"My dogs only have to go to the vet for their annuals and I have Paige who's 13 and we still do agility together," explains Ross.
All without the high cost.
"They're one of the only companies that have been able to keep high-quality food and prices under control, not to mention, you get your seventh bag free all the time," adds Kramer.
"You're not going to make, you know a clunker into a Cadillac, but you're going to make it the best clunker you can," says Ross, talking about dogs after they eat Infinia.
A veterinarian with Bellwood Animal Hospital in Rockford says as long as our dogs are eating a well-balanced meal, they should remain healthy. He says so far, there has not been any concrete evidence that shows all-natural food is necessarily better for our pets.
Right now Cherry Valley Feed is the number one seller in the nation of Exclusive-brand dog food and the all-natural food prices tend to be cheaper than name-brands. Ross now saves about $15 on her Exclusive dog food, from her previous name-brand food.
