MALTA (WIFR) -- The Lee Ogle Transportation System (L.O.T.S.) provides convenient transportation in Ogle and Lee Counties, including to and from Kishwaukee College.
The L.O.T.S. bus picks up local residents at several stops in Hillcrest and Rochelle in time for 8:00a.m. and 9:00a.m. classes. The bus returns in the afternoon at several times—1:00, 2:30 and 4:10—reversing its morning route for drop off. Residents may also inquire about an afternoon pick up to go to Kishwaukee College but then would need to establish an alternative way if they are leaving campus later than 4:10p.m.
Students and College staff who ride the L.O.T.S. bus route to and from Kishwaukee are impressed with the courteous service, convenience, and affordability. By using public transportation, the local residents can go green—both in the sense of protecting the environment and in saving their own “green” by paying less for gas and the wear and tear on their own vehicle. The cost for a one-way single ticket is less than one gallon of gas: $2.00. Students may also purchase a semester pass—17 weeks of round trips—for only $140. Students who have a ride with a friend or family member either to or from Kishwaukee may also purchase a semester one-way pass for $70.
Area residents interested in riding the L.O.T.S. bus to Kishwaukee College should contact the College at 815-825-2086, ext. 2490.For additional information on the L.O.T.S. bus routes and service, call 888-239-9228 or 815-288-2117.
