Durand (WIFR) -- People in Durand get a glimpse of what life was like in the village a century ago.
Volunteers opened a time capsule put in the cornerstone of the vale building when it was built 100 years ago. They found pictures, a newspaper, and papers signed by village leader, business owners, teachers and the construction workers. Ken and Sue Gibler bought the vale building back in 1977 and say it's amazing to get this glimpse into the past.
The ceremony kicked off the Durand 4th of July festival which ends tomorrow night during the annual fireworks show.
