ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- In the next few weeks District 205 should have a detailed plan on part of its 10-Year-Facilities plan.

We got an update at tonight's Operations Committee meeting where administrators say they're currently talking to several architectural firms to help develop the project.

They're talking to about ten firms, some from the Chicago area to help with bigger improvements. Administrators say they hope to bring those contracts to the next board meeting for approval. The firms will help the district design specific plans to fix crumbling school buildings. They should have the first 18-month plan finished in the next few weeks. The district is currently targeting high schools.

Also tonight, some board members were upset about the lack of parent notification when it comes to a girl scout program. All sixth grade girls were automatically enrolled in the program, that most board members say they didn't know about. That also means students' names and addresses were given out to a third party which is another concern. We will be following up with this story so we'll have more details during the week.
