Winners Announced for Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful’s Nature Photography Contest

LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- During a reception hosted at the Rockford Area Association of Realtors Wednesday, September 21, Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful announced the winners of the Nature Photography Contest.

Grand Prize was awarded to Bill Eklund for his contribution, Midsummer Sunrise.

In the Flowers, Detail & Macro category, First place winner was Kerissa Leverton’s Succulent Sip. Second place was awarded for Light on the Loose to David Zimmerman, and Third place was awarded to Michael Cieslak for his image, Freezing Drizzle on Dried Flowers.

Les Morgan took First place in the Landscape & Nature category with Moss Ledge & Walkway while Second place went to Sunday Drive, contributed by Jill Boloski. Third place was awarded to Michael Cieslak for his After a Summer Storm.

Robert Colletta took First place in the Youth category for his photo, After the Storm. The Second place winner was Hannah Johnson’s Illinois Carpet, and Robert Colletta was awarded Third place for Reeds in the Wind. “Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful would like to thank and acknowledge all of the talented entrants. Their unique views remind us of the natural beauty found virtually everywhere in our community,” said Lori Gummow, executive director of Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful.

Prizes included $500 in Camera Craft gift certificates plus photographic prints on canvas. The book, Natural Perspectives 2011, featuring the top 25 entries covered by the winning photo were available at the event.
