ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Some local residents got a chance to take a flight down memory lane.
The EAA flew over 200 passengers in 35 flights this weekend at Rockford Airport in a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor: the world's first mass-produced airliner.
The flights gave many passengers a chance to fly in a plane from their childhood as well as connect generations between grandparents and their younger loved ones.
Pilot Gerry Flaugher said, "For the price of a ticket today's parents are able to come and ride in it to experience and airline travel such as our grandparents may have experienced in the 20s and 30s."
This Ford Tri-Motor has some acting credits in such movies as the Johnny Depp flick "Public Enemies".
