‘Hands Across the Sea/Trouble in Tahiti’ at Rockford College

ROCKFORD (RC) -- Rockford College presents two one-act plays, ‘Hands Across the Sea/Trouble in Tahiti.’ Performance dates are; Feb. 24–27. Performance times are 7:30p.m. Thursday–Saturday and 2:00p.m.on Sunday. All performances will take place at Clark Arts Center in Cheek Theatre.

‘Hands Across the Sea’ is a short comic play involving two bemused visitors from the colonies who take up a casually-made invitation from an upper-class British couple to drop in on them at their Mayfair flat. Their identity is mistaken among the arrivals, departures, telephone calls and free-flowing alcohol, and confusion abounds.

‘Trouble in Tahiti’ is a one-act opera in seven scenes, set in an affluent, nameless American suburb, the story depicts the disenchantment of Dinah with her husband Sam, who is more interested in his career and hobbies than in his family.
