ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce that Beverly Broyles has accepted the position of Executive Director.
Beverly, a Rockford resident, comes to Mendelssohn after working as Executive Director for Tinker Swiss Cottage for more than four years. During her time at Tinker Cottage, Beverly founded the free “Tinker With Music” Summer Concert Series.
Prior to working at Tinker Cottage, Beverly held positions as Executive Director for the River Tree Center for the Arts and Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center in Maine, and as Curator of Education and Director of Public Programs for the Knoxville Museum of Art. She is a member of the Rockford Rotary Club and currently serves on the board of directors for SWIFTT and the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. She also belongs to the “Par None” and “One For The Girls” golf groups. Beverly is married with three sons and four grandchildren.
“My passion is to make it possible for individuals of all ages to have equal opportunities in the arts to be encouraged to reach their full potential, whatever level that might be,” Beverly says.
The Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center board and staff look forward to working with Beverly and are very excited to have her as part of the organization. Beverly will take up the position of Executive Director on July 25, 2011.
