ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Two classic bands put the "Rock" in Rockford Thursday night. Before ZZ-Top took the stage, the crowd enjoyed the Southern fried styles of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Workin for MCA was just one of the many hits wailed out by a the 2006 Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Last year VH 1 ranked Lynyrd Skynyrd as the 77th greatest artist of all time.
Sandwiched in between two very similar artists; Judas Priest and Run DMC.

Meantime ZZ-Top made the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, they were named the 44th greatest hard rock band of all time.

3 Doors Down will be in town on November 1, 2011 and starting Friday (Oct. 28) morning at 10:00 a.m. the BMO Harris Bank Center has tickets on sale for just $15-bucks until Sunday morning.
