Local Fans Line up Early for 'Harry Potter'

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It’s the beginning of the end of a world wide phenomenon. The last film of the popular Harry Potter series premiered this morning. It's so popular that some fans showed up hours before the start of the show.

Harry Potter fan Chase Could said, “To see the most amazing movie in the world. it's the world's largest phenomenon, it's Pottermania!”

Pottermania is right. Several fans of the series showed up as early as 2 pm to wait in line for the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 wearing some of their best wizard gear. The movie, which quickly sold out at the AMC Showplace 16, is expected to break box office records.
