LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Lindsay Lohan is due in court to face a new judge, and a new criminal charge, that could return the troubled star to jail rather than the big screen.
The "Mean Girls" star is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on a felony grand theft charge. She is accused of stealing a necklace from an upscale jewelry store in the beachside community of Venice.
Police and prosecutors claim she took the $2,500 necklace in January, just weeks after being released from rehab.
It would be the latest -- and most serious -- legal problem for the 24-year-old actress. She remains on probation for a 2007 drunken driving case, but the theft case is the first time she will face a felony.
Her attorney has denied the actress stole the necklace.
