CHICAGO (AP) -- Grammy and Oscar-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson says she never dreamed she'd have a weight loss center named after her.
The Chicago native stopped in her home town today for the opening of "The Weight Watchers Jennifer Hudson Center." Hudson has lost 80 pounds and is a spokeswoman for the company. The center is on the city's South Side, not far from President Barack Obama's home.
Weight Watchers says it will donate a portion of the center's revenue to a foundation in honor of Hudson's late nephew, Julian King. In October 2008, the bodies of Hudson's mother and brother were found in the family's home. King's body was found days later in a vehicle. All three had been shot.
Hudson won an Oscar for her role in "Dreamgirls."
