What: The Rockford Area Arts Council and its Board of Directors will announce and recognize recipients of its 2012 Community Arts Access Grants. The Rockford Area Arts Council will award nearly $20,000 in grants to artists, arts organizations and community groups. This year 22 organizations and individuals will receive a Community Arts Access Grant.

Community Arts Access Grants: Grants are awarded in amounts up to $2,500 to artists and community non-profit organizations for projects which increase access to the arts for underserved people and/or increase the visibility of the arts for people in Boone, DeKalb, Ogle, and Winnebago counties.

Funding for the grants is provided by the City of Rockford, Illinois Arts Council, and individual and corporate Arts Council members.
