NEW YORK (AP) -- The welfare official from Malawi overseeing Madonna's attempts to adopt a boy from there plans to make a trip to Madonna's home in London.
The official (Penston Kilembe) says he plans to travel next week to check on David Banda, the boy Madonna and her husband, Guy Ritchie, want to adopt. She took David to her home last October.
The official was supposed to pay a visit in May but that was called off. He hinted a lack of government funding was the reason.
Child welfare officials are expected to file a report on the suitability of Madonna and Ritchie as adoptive parents after two trips.
