RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) -- Live Earth Brazil is back on.
A Brazilian judge has ruled that the Live Earth concert in Rio de Janeiro can proceed as planned on Saturday, after organizers convinced her there would be adequate security.
The show was called off earlier this week when police said they were stretched too thin to provide proper security. The Rio show is the only Live Earth concert that is free, and up to 700-thousand people are expected.
Live Earth organizers appealed the decision after authorities said police were now available because a gospel-music show at the same time was switched to a site that required fewer officers.
The Rio show will feature Lenny Kravitz, Macy Gray and Pharrell Williams. Live Earth is staging shows around the world Saturday to draw attention to global warming.
