Streisand cancels Rome concert

ROME (AP) -- Barbra Streisand has canceled a concert in Rome next month but denies it had anything to do with complaints about high ticket prices.

Concert organizers blamed production delays for the cancellation of the June 15th show, which would have been Streisand's first concert in Italy and the start of her European tour.

But last week, several consumer group protested what they said were "absurd and shameful" ticket prices ranging from just under 200 dollars to more than 12-hundred dollars.

Streisand's 2006 U-S tour was ranked the second-highest grossing tour in North America last year. The average ticket price was 298 dollars.
