CHICAGO (AP) -- The second day of proceedings has finished in the trial of the man accused of killing Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson's family.
Testimony ended Tuesday with Chicago Police Sgt. Kevin Barry, who told jurors about trying to find Hudson's 7-year-old nephew. Barry testified for less than 15 minutes before the judge adjourned. William Balfour is accused in the deaths of the boy and Hudson's mother and brother. Balfour is the ex-husband of Hudson's sister, Julia Hudson. Both Jennifer and Julia Hudson testified Monday.
Hudson shut her eyes earlier Tuesday as a police officer described finding her dead family members. The actress and singer later left the courtroom before photos of their bodies were shown. Prosecutors claim Balfour targeted the family in vindictiveness against his ex-wife. He has pleaded not guilty.
