"The Boss" Sued Over Nixed Horse Sale

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Bruce Springsteen and his wife are being sued for allegedly backing out of a contract to buy a horse worth $850,000.

Olympic equestrian Todd Minikus filed the breach of contract suit in Florida's Palm Beach County yesterday. He says the horse was intended for the Springsteens' teenage daughter Jessica.

The suit says the Springsteens reneged on a deal to buy the horse -- named Pavarotti -- for $650,000 and give Minikus another horse worth $200,000.

Minikus is seeking damages, as well as compensation for Pavarotti's continued daily upkeep.

A Springsteen representative said she had no information about the suit.
