POPLAR GROVE (WIFR) -- As part of the North Boone's ongoing strategic planning process, the district approved a new Communications Plan in April 2013. One of the new pieces of the plan was to develop ways for more people to see what is going on within the North Boone Schools.
Senator Steve Stadelman of Rockford was asked to be the first principal of the day since he is a member of the Senate's Education Committee which deals with a range of educational issues each year which impact North Boone.
Senator Stadelman was at North Boone Upper Elementary School for the morning of December 12 and then spent the afternoon at NBHS. He was able to visit classrooms and speak with students and teachers as well as help pass out student rewards in both buildings.
Senator Stadelman had the following to say about his visit: "I very much enjoyed the chance to get a front-line look into a day in the life of a principal, both the everyday challenges of running a school building and the rewards. I was impressed with the enthusiasm for learning that I saw in the administration, staff and students."
North Boone was grateful that the Senator was able to take time out of his busy schedule to see how a rural district functions.
