ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Samantha Stovall, a program manager with the Electric Systems division of UTC Aerospace Systems, has been named Mentor of the Year by Nobscot Corporation, maker of the Mentor ScoutTM talent management system. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Stovall was selected based on the quality of meaningful activities she has established with her mentee, her creation of a sharing network, and mentee support and results.
“This is a humbling recognition,” said Stovall. “I started at the company as a college intern, and have benefitted from the help of several very supportive mentors throughout my career. Many times they were within my own reporting structure, but just as often they were people whose opinions I trusted and whose careers I wanted to emulate. I am proud to pay back to others the type of support I have been given.”
“As a company we are committed to building talent through a culture that values and encourages continuous learning and development,” said Helen Goldson, vice president, Human Resources, Power, Controls & Sensing Systems, UTC Aerospace Systems. “In addition to the obvious, direct impact to mentees, we find that mentorship makes very positive impacts to our organization. We are proud of Samantha’s achievement, her commitment to mentorship and her leadership in modeling this supportive behavior for others at UTC Aerospace Systems.”
