ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Rockford Spine Center is pleased to be named to the Rockford IceHogs medical network. Dr. Michael Roh, Dr. Christopher Sliva, Dr. Fred Sweet and Dr. Marie Walker will serve among the secondary medical network as the team’s orthopedic spine specialists.

The Rockford IceHogs Medical Network features two distinct divisions of physician care and medical support as part of the Chicago Blackhawks organization. The primary medical network and the secondary sub-specialty network provide the matrix of medical care necessary to uphold those standards set forth by the National Hockey League (NHL) and respectively, the American Hockey League (AHL).

Rockford Spine Center is the only spine center in the region to combine the expertise of three fellowship-trained spine surgeons. The physicians are proficient in complex spinal disorders including disc herniation, degenerative and arthritic disease of the spine, scoliosis, spinal deformity, spinal fractures, spine trauma and spinal cord injury.

Rockford Spine Center will join nearly 50 local medical specialists in the IceHogs Secondary Medical Network. The secondary medical network is an additional safety net for the athletes and hockey operations staff and is utilized in an intricate system of communication and procedural efficiency to keep in line with the demanding hockey schedule. The Rockford IceHogs organization says its Medical Network is the most detailed and efficiently operated system in the AHL.

Rockford Spine Center is the only facility in Northwestern Illinois dedicated exclusively to spinal care. The facility has the combined expertise of three fellowship trained spine surgeons, a Mayo Clinic trained physiatrist and a general orthopedic surgeon.
