ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- If you're planning to buy a home in the Rockford area a new report says you're getting quite a bargain.

According to Fiserv, Rockford ranks as the third most affordable housing market in the nation. One of the reasons the average home costs $80,000 and the median family income is $60,000. The survey estimates prices will continue to rise. And local realtors agree, saying they're selling more homes and seeing prices rise. Fifer lists Detroit as the most affordable market... Followed by South Bend, Indiana.
