BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- After adding nearly 1,500 jobs, Chrysler is ramping up production of the Dodge Dart.

More than 7,000 Darts rolled of the assembly line in July, that's nearly twice as many as in June. While the company shifts its focus on the new compact sedan the plant has significantly cut back production of the Jeep Compass and Patriot. About 5,000 Compasses and 2,900 Patriots were made last month, that's the lowest number since September.
