Today Rockford Park District Police Chief Theo Glover joins me as we seek your help to identify the individual responsible for vandalizing the bronze statue honoring Joe Marino which was located on the northwest corner of East State Street and Water Street in Rockford, Illinois. Chief, what can you tell us about the incidentRich, our investigation indicates the vandalism took place on Friday July 22nd between 1 and 8 in the morning. The video you are now viewing shows the extensive damage to the $38,000 statue and surrounding brick work which was caused by the suspect throwing yellow, automotive quality paint on the statue. The statue has been removed by Rockford Park District personnel and transported to the original castor in an effort to restore it to it's original condition.
