Rochelle Man Sentenced For Sex Assault

OREGON (WIFR) -- A convicted sex offender in Ogle County is sentenced to 19 years in prison after pleading guilty to criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Chad Rand, 25, of Rochelle, was sentenced Tuesday, after pleading guilty to the charges back in February. According to the Ogle County State's Attorney, Rand must spend 19 years in prison and pay a $500 fine and court costs to the victim, who is still a minor. Additional charges involving predatory criminal sex assault and aggravated sexual abuse were dismissed. Rand received 30 days credit for time he's already served.

Someone who went to school with this guy told me it wasn't so bad, that it was political, etc. Fact is, dude copped a plea that bought him 19 years. Gotta wonder what he would've gotten.

I hope WIFR will keep us updated on this. All we need is another sexual predator out on our streets.

Good to read some comments that make sense. Yeah, really........I don't understand how anyone can support a sexual predator either.

I have to agree with "Finally". It is puzzling how our justice system works.

People like him are sick and twisted. He should get more time than he did.

If anyone knew him well enough to know he was offending against children and didn't do anything about it, they should be locked up with him. If anyone that thought they knew him, still supports him, even after he pled guilty, they should see a therapist, because you ain't right either.
