Rockford Crime Stoppers 11/25

The Rockford Police Department and Crime Stoppers need your help to solve a strong armed robbery which took place at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17th. The 58 year-old female victim was in a driveway in the 1000 block of North Prospect when she was approached by a black man carrying a flashlight who said he was looking for his dog and without warning he punched her in the face and fled with her purse. The pictures you are now viewing show a black female making a purchase at the East State Street Toys R Us store on October 18th. She forged a check belonging to the victim of the strong armed robbery. She was accompanied by a black female, a child, and a black male who are seen standing with her at the register. The check was used to purchase a large toy car which also can be seen in the pictures. The black man who committed the robbery is described as 30 years old, 5'6 tall, stocky build, 190 lbs., with short black hair. If you know the name of the female or other persons in the pictures or have information on the suspect call Crime Stoppers at 963-7867 or 1-800-769-STOP.
